The American Museum of
Veterinary Medicine invites you to join us in educating
people about the animals they love and their special
doctors. The former historic Ridgewood Farm provides the
perfect backdrop for us to explore the traditions of the
past, showcase today’s modern techniques and capture
exciting glimpses into the future. Grow with us as we
explore the relationship between medicine for man and
beast.
Learn how has the profession has grown and evolved since
its beginnings as “the horse doctor”.
Did you know that:
- There are now 29
boarded specialties in veterinary medicine.
- More women are
enrolled in veterinary school than men.
- Veterinarians are
the first line responders to identify emerging
animal diseases and to monitor new diseases
transmitted from animals to humans.
- Veterinary care
and advice dramatically improves food, animal
health, and productivity.
